Bread Offering; Feeding Trickster
This season, Succurro Bread is available from the end of May through October. These wood-fired sourdough loaves, made by Rebeccah, are naturally leavened with sourdough starter, and made completely by hand, without any special equipment — just hands, time, and four ingredients: flour, natural spring water, levain, and salt.

Bread Offering:Feeding Trickster
This project is the next iteration of an on-going attending to the creative impulse within. This takes the form of baking sourdough bread in a wood-fired earth oven on the land at Succurro.
This next iteration of ever-evolving and growing intimacy with creative fire seeks to address gnawing, ravenous hunger — a kind of inner, subtle hunger that I sense is eating us alive.
This project seeks to cultivate a relationship with Trickster, who is always hungry, looking for his next meal. Trickster — an embodiment of the ongoing forces of change and transformation. When we relate with Trickster, when we feed him — we come into better relationship with the ongoing forces of change — life itself unfolding.
The oven will be a crucible. A crucible where I stoke a fire in order to bake bread that might nourish and satiate; and a forge where I stoke and feed and nourish fire within.
